Senator Ipalibo Banigo, representing Rivers West Senatorial District, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. Her defection added to the majority of APC Senators in the National Assembly.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during the Tuesday Plenary announced the detection of Senator Banigo to the ruling APC.

Speaking with Senate Correspondents after the Plenary, Senator Banigo attributed her decision to the massive Infrastructural drive of the Tinubu administration across the country, which her Senatorial District equally benefited from.

She also hailed the economic policies of the Tinubu administration, which according to her, has led to stabilize the naira and improve socio-economic well-being of all Nigerians.

Senator Banigo further commended the President for the fatherly roles he played in the political crisis in Rivers State, which has stabilized democracy and the rule of law in the state.

The Senate, however, fixed the celebration of her defection for tomorrow during the Plenary.
