President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the State House, Abuja, cautioned Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State that he did not conquer anybody, but won an election. Tinubu warned Adeleke to celebrate his victory wisely and do not make an individual a victim of his contest.

The President, receiving the Osun State Governor who presented his Certificate of Returns to him, said it was a celebration of democracy.
According to President Tinubu, "With this we celebrate democracy; democracy for all and a united well-endowed State of Osun."

Tinubu asserted: "You did not conquer anybody. You won election. That is the essence of democracy.

"Don't make a single individual a victim of your campaign. Call for reconciliation, expand your coast. That is the only way you can give thanks to Osun people, not the way you sang it or celebrate it. It is the way you act it."
Adeleke said he was at the State House to thank President Tinubu for allowing free and fair election in the August 15 governorship election in Osun State.
