Adeleke Advocates Need For Transparent Elections

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has advocated the need for transparent elections in Nigeria. The Governor challenged Nigerian law making organs to rise to safeguard the nation's democracy by ensuring that fairness and credibility prevail in consonance with the will of the people in any election in the country.

Governor Adeleke, hosting members of the Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives, led by their Chairman, Hon. Bamidele Salam, at the Government House, Oshogbo, emphasised that credible election is not optional but a compulsory process to safeguard democratic system.

The governor described the next Osun governorship election and the 2027 General Elections as litmus test for the growth and sustainability of the nation's democracy.

The Deputy Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives, Jeremiah Umar, lauded some of the achievements of the governor in education, economy, infrastructure and other sectors.
