NSCDC Parades 5 Suspects For Vandalism

Benue State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, has arrested and paraded fiveĀ  suspects for alleged criminal conspiracy and unlawful possession of vandalized materials.

The suspects age between 20 -35 year were apprehended on 29th, 30th, June and 3rd, July 2026 by NSCDC operatives during a routine patrol along the Tse - Ivue and Tse Dei Communities of Guma Local Government Area and around Lafia Junction North Bank area of Makurdi Local Government Area.

The suspects identified as Gbenda Nyiter, Tersoo Bawa, Hanmakwagh James, Jeremiah Uker and Moses Ikyobo were arrested following intelligence on the activities of a syndicate specialized in vandalizing and trading in public utilities.

Items recovered from them include. A 350 meter Aluminum conductors suspected to be cut from power transmission lines. Two yellow Unregistered tricycles used for conveying the items.

The Command Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of. Corps, EJELIKWU MICHAEL, said the State Commandant Larai Bitrus, has warned criminal elements who engages in such act of vandals to desist from it particular scrap dealers and their buyers, describing them as enemies of national security and economic sabotage.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects conspired and vandalize power installations causing disruption to electricity supply and economic loss.
