The Nigerian Senate has expressed concern over the persistent insecurity across the country, assuring Nigerians that efforts are ongoing to secure the release of all victims currently held by kidnappers.

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, gave the assurance during the plenary while clarifying that lawmakers continued to carry out their constitutional and oversight responsibilities even while the National Assembly was on recess.

Akpabio said the Senate understands the expectations of Nigerians and remains committed to supporting efforts aimed at restoring peace and security across the country.

He stressed that a secure environment is essential for attracting foreign investment, driving economic growth, and promoting national development.
