APC Primary: Adeola Floors Hunye with 304,055 Votes in Ogun Governorship Race

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State has elected Senator Solomon Adeola as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.

Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, emerged winner of the party’s governorship primary election, polling 304,055 votes to defeat fellow aspirant, Abayomi Hunye, who scored zero votes.

Announcing the result at the APC State Secretariat in Abeokuta, Chairman of the Governorship Primary Election Committee, Wale Ohu, disclosed that the party had 343,292 registered voters, while 305,287 members were accredited for the exercise.

Despite the party’s consensus arrangement in favour of Adeola, Abayomi Hunye participated in the primary election at his ward in Tube, Ipokia Local Government Area, where supporters reportedly turned out massively in a peaceful atmosphere.

In his acceptance speech, Senator Adeola pledged to consolidate on the achievements of Governor Dapo Abiodun and sustain peace and unity within the APC if elected governor in 2027.

Governor Abiodun described the peaceful conduct of the primary election as historic and a demonstration of the confidence party members have in Adeola.
