As the 2015 general elections draw closer by the day and change of baton becomes more imminent to those who occupy both the green and the red chambers of the national assembly, a lawmaker from Plateau state, representing Pankshin, Kanke Kanam Federal constituency at the

House of Representative urged the electorates to ensure that only men and women with experience are allowed to go to the National Assembly. 

Hon Emmanuel Goar who was a former speaker of the Plateau state House of Assembly before moving to the National assembly said the people do themselves a great disservice whenever they let go an experience lawmaker for a newcomer.

He added that the business of legislation requires experience gathered from parliament over the years.

Hon. Goar stressed that lawmakers who speak from experience are great assets not only to their various state but to the nation in general.

The lawmaker who said that the parliament is what gives appropriate credence to any sound democracy asserted that the hallow chamber is not for rookies but for those who know exactly what to do. 

Due to the clamour for zoning and rotation of political offices in many parts of the country, Goar said some have mistaken the serious business of lawmaking to be an avenue for making a daily bread. Due to the outcome of the primaries in which protest votes have been promised, the former speaker of the Plateau state house of assembly decried the situation where some who have no business in lawmaking are lining up for election into the chambers.
