Obasanjo Begs Jonathan, Buhari To Includes Infrastructure In Their Agenda
Former President olusegun Obasanjo has appealed to the two lead presidential candidates in the February 14th General election, Muhammadu Buhari and Goodluck Jonathan to include infrastructural development in their agenda at rebuilding Nigeria.
Speaking at his Presidential Hilltop in Abeokuta while receiving the Presidential Candidates of the All Progressive Congress, Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate, John Oyegun said it is appropriate for them to tackle the problems of corruption, economy downturn and insecurity, the former President maintained that it would be appropriate for all the contestant to include infrastructural development in their agenda if the country must move forward.
Our Correspondent Kunle ojo reports that obasanjo charged the two gladiators to eschew politics of bitterness but should discuss issues and convince Nigerians on how they are going to improve the situation of things in the country.
The former President further appealed to all the contestants to put aside all trivial issues and should concentrate on developmental issues.
He maintained that in any political parties there are devils and saints noting that, any party that is gunning for power must be ready to look for credible people, with impeccable characters, that would contribute meaningfully to the development of the country.
Earlier in his remark, the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Muhammadu Buhari described Obasanjo as a great leader, whose contribution to the development of the country cannot be over-emphasised noting that, his advice at this stage of Nigeria development is important.
He said the intention of the Party was to face out the problems of corruption, insecurity, unemployment as well as the lingering economic downturn pervading the country.
The Party presidential rally is billed to take place this afternoon while the leaders of the party are courtesy visit to notable traditional rulers in the state.
