INEC continues voters’ registration
The continuous voters’ registration exercise in line with the directive from the national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced in Ondo state.
Flagging off the exercise at INEC’s office in the Akure south local government area, the administrative secretary, INEC Ondo state, Alhaji Kabir Omosanya frowned at the situation where over 300,000 permanent voters’ cards are yet to be collected from the previous registration exercise.
Akhaji Omosanya also warn against multiple registration saying INEC will no longer condone such malpractices as the commission is poised to apply laws applicable to punish such culprits.
Citizens of Ondo state that are yet to register including those that have just attained the age of 18 are advised to go to the INEC office in their local government for registration.
In a similar vein, the national Commissioner, INEC, who is in charge of Oyo, Osun and Ekiti stated that all necessary measures needed for the smooth conduct of the registration are in place.
Earlier in his remark, the administrative Secretary of the Commission in Oyo state, Suleiman Junaid said all necessary things needed for the exercise in all the local government areas in the state are in place caking for the support of all stakeholders.
