Police Arrest Suspected Cultist, Recover Arms In Enugu
The police have arrested a suspected cultist in Enugu State. Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command, attached to the Oji-River, in collaboration with Neighbourhood Watch, arrested a notorious suspected Cultist and recovered a firearms, live ammunition and other incriminating exhibits.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Command, Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement, indicated that the suspect, identified as Chijoke Abraham, was arrested following the operatives swift response to credible information regarding his presence at a criminal black spot within Gariki axis of Oji River Local Government Area of the state.
The Police said that suspect was arrested with a loaded double-barreled pistol, one live cartridge and a lighter.
The PPRO said the suspect is assisting the police in an ongoing investigation aimed at uncovering his involvement in cult related and other criminal activities within the area before he will be arraigned in court.
The Enugu State Police Commissioner, CP Mamman Giwa, reiterated the Command's unwavering commitment to combating cultism and other violent crimes in the state. He urged residents to continue being law abiding, vigilant and provide credible information to the police and other security agencies.
