A group of youths in Delta State on Thursday went on rampage, protesting illegal mining of coal in their community.

The youth of Ugboba, Aniocha North Local Government, are demanding details of the Memorandum of Association, MoU, the community signed with the mining company. They are also demanding accountability of the royalty the miners are paying to the community leaders, including the traditional ruler and Council of Chiefs.
They accused the elders and Council of Chiefs of building houses in Warri, building hotels in Asaba with community funds derived from the mining.
According to the protesters, "No MoU, No Mining", Elders Must Speak Now," "Ugboba is our land".
