JTF Arrest Four Suspected Oil Thieves In Bayelsa
Operatives of the Joint Task Force special squad code named Operation Pulo Shield operating in the Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa state have arrested four suspected oil thieves, and seized an oil vessel loaded with substance suspected to be crude oil.
In a statement by the JTF spokesperson Lt. Col. Mustapha Anka, made available to journalists, the suspects which includes three men and one woman were arrested on board an oil laden barge along Igbematuru waterways, while the barge and products are presently under their custody.
In another development, the JTF has destroyed two illegal refinery camps along the Burutu waters in Burutu local government area of Delta state.
According to the JTF image maker, 203 drums containing illegally refined products and local wooden boats were set ablaze by the soldiers.
Lt. Col. Anka warned that the special squad of the JTF will leave no stone unturned during the Christmas period, in making sure that criminals are brought to book.
Meanwhile, soldiers of the Joint Task Force who recently paraded over twenty suspected oil thieves, and Naval officers have intensified its patrol along the Delta waterways, to ensure a safe water ways for business.
