Anambra: Obiano Sworn-in, As Obi Bows Out
At exactly 2.07pm Monday the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November 16, 2013 governorship election in Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano, was administered with both the oath of office and allegiance as the new Governor of the state by the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Peter Umeadi amidst pomp and celebrations.
Before him however his running mate in the election, Dr. Nkem Okeke had taken the same oath at about 1.55pm.
Highly elated Obiano who waved ceaselessly to the sea of party supporters and well wishers that thronged the Dr. Alex Ekwueme venue of the event shortly in his acceptance speech expressed gratitude to the people of the state for reposing confidence in him and his Deputy and pledged that the tradition of excellence his predecessor, Chief Peter Obi entrenched in Anambra state these past eight years would be sustained.
