Northern Youth Group Declares Support For Minister of Defence, Chris Musa
A Northern Youth Group, under the aegis of Northern Nigeria United Youths for Peace and Progress, has declared support for the Minister of Defence, General Chris Musa, retired, in his efforts to combat insecurity in the country.
The northern group called on Nigerians to engage in calm and constructive discussions on the country's security crises.
The group maintained that the Defence Minister, Christopher Gwabin Musa, has done a good job, so far.
The coalition acknowledged Nigeria's security challenges, but noted that efforts have been made to improve things since the current administration took over in May 2023.
The group recalled General Musa's role as Chief of Defence Staff, where he worked on strengthening security agencies and engaging communities to fight insecurity.
The youths urged Nigerians to support ongoing security reforms and avoid divisive statements or actions. They stressed the need for respectful dialogue, especially, in political discussions, to help address the country's security problems.
The group is optimistic of the Defence Ministry's reforms; and believes they will improve security nationwide.
They called on citizens to be vigilant, united, and committed to collective action, emphasizing that national solidarity is key to overcoming security challenges .
