Okpebholo Reiterates Support For State Police
Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, receiving a delegation of the Police Force Headquarters, Abuja, and the Police Service Commission, at the Government House, Benin City, reiterated his support for the establishment of state police to curb the intractable insecurity crisis in the country. The governor said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu meant well for Nigerians for thinking of introducing state police.
The delegation was in the state to assess the ongoing police recruitment exercise.
Governor Okpebholo maintained that his administration will create an awareness in ensuring more Edo citizens embrace the police recruitment.
Also, the leader of the delegation, DCP John Echeta, lamented the low presence of Edo citizens partaking in the recruitment exercise.
