Ihedioha setup committee to review Imo civil service
Following a clarion call by people of the state as well as the Resolution of the Imo State House of Assembly, urging the Governor to review activities in the State’s Civil Service, His Excellency, Governor Emeka Ihedioha CON, have put up a Sevenman-committee to review appointments and recruitment’s in the State’s Civil Service.
Inaugurating the committee at the Government House in Owerri the state capital, the Governor represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Uche Onyeagucha, noted that it is pertinent to review and evaluate appointments made without due process, non-application of public service rules and regulations.
He urged the committee to ensure that they discharge their responsibilities with all sense of patriotism.
Responding on behalf of the members, the chairman of the committee, Mr. Okey Anyanwu, thanked the Governor for finding them worthy for the assignment, he, however, assured the Governor of a sterling performance in that regard.
Correspondent Ajibade Awofeso reports that the committee is expected to evaluate the recent appointments of Head of Service, permanent secretaries, Solicitor-General, Accountant General and heads of ministerial departments.
They are also expected to review all staff recruitment’s, promotions, and transfers of officers done without following the due process from 2015 to date.
