Delta State won both men and women 100 meters gold at the Niger Delta Sports Festival 2026, holding in Bayelsa State.

The athletes from Delta State, invariably, delivered outstanding performances in the 100m finals, clinching gold in both the men’s and women’s categories, NDDC noted.

Chibueze Osama electrified the race, coasting to victory in the men’s 100 meters final, crossing the finish line in a record time of 10.42 seconds to secure the gold medal.

Ejiro Peter won the gold for Delta State, clocking 11.58 seconds in the women’s 100 meters final.

In the men’s category, Gift Bright of Akwa Ibom State won the silver medal, while Saturday Godswill of Delta State cleaned up for bronze.

In the women’s category, Praise Tejiri won silver, while Victory Azobudi of Edo State won the bronze medal.
