Ekiti 2026: INEC Battles With Trust, Credibility Deficit

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, may be battling with trust and credibility deficit in the buildup to the 2026 Governorship election in Ekiti State.

The Commission, accordingly, reaffirmed commitment to a credible June 20 Governorship election in Ekiti State, prioritizing accessibility for persons living with disabilities.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Bunmi Omosehindemi, represented by the Executive Secretary, Tope Aina, at an engagement with disability groups in Ado-Ekiti, promised accessible voting centers and renewed calls for Continuous Voter Registration, urging disability leaders to mobilize eligible members.

Stakeholders commended the dialogue, calling it a trust-building step.
