EFFC tasks indicted Nigerians to submit to investigation
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has appealed to all the 80 Nigerians indicted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to submit themselves to investigation in their own interest.
Recall that the bureau after a massive cybercrime investigation released the names of 80 Nigerians who have been indicted.
Addressing journalists in Ibadan, the zonal head, economic and financial crimes commission, Ibadan zonal office, Friday Ebelo says the commission cannot pretend to be oblivious of the nagging impact of those listed adding that if they failed to present themselves the commission will soon come after them.
On the activities of the commission in the zone between January and August this year, Ebelo disclosed that about 263 suspects promising that the zone is currently after others now at large.
Ebelo revealed that his men have arrested one internet fraud kingpin identified as Ajayi Gbenga Festus during an operation in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state while money close to N223 million was found in his Nigeria bank account through an illicit transaction of 52,702 us dollars, 2,400 Euros, 400 Canadian dollars and 60 pounds.
He appealed to parents and guardian to always keep eagle eyes on their children and wards stressing that youth should be cautioned against internet crimes which could jeopardize their future.
