An armed herder has been arrested with a locally fabricated pistol after encroaching a farm land with his cattle, behind modern Market in Agbo community a sub -urban area of Makurdi local government area of Benue State.

He was arrested by operative of Benue State Community Volunteer Guards a day after the commander of agro ranger of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps was killed in Shaapera community during operation by armed herdsmen in Gwer west local government area of Benue state.

Parading the armed suspect, of a Fulani stock at the premises of Benue state community volunteer Guard, the Special Adviser on Security and Internal Affairs, Joseph Har, says the suspect has committed an act which violates the law on open grazing and will be prosecuted according to law, while commending Agbo community for not taking laws into their hands by informing government of the development.
