The Police have arrested seven suspected kidnappers and armed robbers, recovered one stolen vehicle and two AK-47 rifles in Benue State.

The Benue State Police Command disclosed the recovery of arms and ammunition, and the uncovering of a suspected human trafficking and job racketeering syndicate.

Operatives of the Command’s tactical team carried out the operation in Gboko Local Government Area, where five suspected armed robbers and kidnappers were arrested.

The suspects, according the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Command, DSP Udeme Edet, are under investigation of the State Criminal Investigation Department.

Items recovered during the operation included two locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, two pistols, and rounds of live ammunition, the PPRO said.
