Police Neutralize Bandits, Armed Robbers, Recover Firearms In Benue
The Police, in successful operations, neutralized bandits and armed robbers in Benue State, confiscating firearms.
The Commissioner of Police in Benue State, CP Cletus Nwadiogbu, commended officers and men of the Command for their professionalism, courage, and dedication to duty for the success recorded through out the operations.
The Police Commissioner appealed to residents to continue supporting the Police and other security agencies by providing timely and credible information that will aid ongoing efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
The CP reaffirmed the Command's commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state, following the arrest of several suspects involved in criminal activities, recovery of illegal firearms, ammunition, and foiled criminal operations in various parts of the state.
Thew police revealed that three bandits were neutralized in Ukum, One AK-47 rifle, 21 rounds of live ammunition, and one motorcycle were recovered from the criminals, while other members of the gang escaped on motorcycles with gunshot injuries and are being trailed.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Command, DSP Udeme, disclosed the arrest of one suspect by operatives of the Violent Crimes Response Unit, VCRU, in Makurdi, in possession of a locally fabricated revolver pistol and six rounds of live ammunition.
DSP Udeme said investigations are ongoing, noting that suspects arrested will be charged to court as soon as Investigation is concluded.
