Technical Glitches Marr UTME in Abuja
The day two of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, was marred by disruptions in some centres across Abuja, as the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, assured affected candidates they would be rescheduled to sit for the examination.
Public Communication Advisor of JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, gave the assurance during monitoring of the exercise by the Senate Committee on Tertiary Education in Abuja, following complaints at the Good Success Computer Based Test Centre in Utako.
JAMB maintained that technical glitches were not unusual in a nationwide exercise of that scale but reiterated its commitment to ensuring that every registered candidate is given the opportunity to write the examination through rescheduling and mop-up arrangements.
Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFund, Mohammed Dandutse, acknowledged the challenges across centres nationwide and said the Senate would ensure JAMB takes urgent steps to address the issues and improve its operations.
