Wike Refutes Denying ADC Access To Eagle Square

The FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has denied accusation by the African Democratic Congress, ADC, that the party was denied access to Eagle Square for an event.

Wike, on project inspection tour, said the allegations were "unfounded" and an attempt to gain public sympathy.

Wike clarified that no formal application was received from the ADC or any other group through the Abuja Investments Company Limited, the agency managing the facility.

He stressed that Eagle Square remains open to all, provided they follow due process and pay the required fees.

The minister also addressed concerns over recent structural damage at the Kugbo Bus Terminal caused by a windstorm, moving to calm public anxiety about its safety.

On infrastructure progress, Wike expressed satisfaction with ongoing projects. Road works are set to be completed by May 15, with full streetlight installation by May 31.

He inspected the new Wassa artisan site, a dedicated hub to relocate mechanics and informal operators from makeshift spots.

Wike noted that the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Velodrome falls under the National Sports Commission, not the FCTA.
