The three nominees transmitted to the Senate by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Nigeria Upstream Regulatory Commission, NURC, may have made overtures to Senator Basheer Lado before the senate sitting on their nominations. 

The nominees who include Magnus Abe, Chairman,  Jezhi Paul Yaro, and Mr. Sunday Adebayo Babalola, Non-Executive Commissioners, visited the office of Lado before proceeding to the committee.

According to Senator Lado, "... I received three Presidential nominees for the Nigeria Upstream Regulatory Commission (NURC) in my office - Sen. Magnus Abe (Chairman), Engr. Jezhi Paul Yaro, and Mr. Sunday Adebayo Babalola (Non-Executive Commissioners).

"Joined by distinguished colleagues, including Senator Phillip Aduda, I accompanied them to the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream) for their screening.

"I commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the nomination of Sen. Magnus Abe; a strong testament to his commitment to excellence. I also applaud the Committee for its thorough and diligent process.
