The Leadership of the Team New Nigeria has sued the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Court over rejection of the Party's registration.

The Movement, had in June 2024 applied for registration as a political party, with the acknowledgement of the letter of registration by the Electoral Commission.

The Chairman of Team Nigeria Movement, Modibbo Yakubu Farakwai, addressing Journalists, disclosed that the Commission, having received the application, communicated to the leadership of the party and faulted the party's logo.

He accused the Commission of bias, noting that, there is no way the party's logo is similar to that of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

On the preparation for the 2027 General Elections, Farakwai said that since the Electoral Commission has done its worse, the movement is ready to collaborate and partner with political party which has clear ideology of fighting corruption, ending insecurity, youth empowerment, as well as protection of lives and property of the people.
