Presidency 2027: Atiku, Amaechi, Hayatudeen Appear Before ADC Screening Committee

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, on Tuesday, appeared appearing before the Screening Committee of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as the party commenced screening of presidential aspirants ahead of its primaries for nomination of candidates in the buildup to the 2027 general elections.

The former vice president, who arrived at 12.00 noon with his entourage, approached the committee for the exercise.

Speaking after the exercise, Atiku hailed the process, saying it went smoothly.

Another presidential hopeful, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, who was also screened by the committee expressed confidence as the exercise gets underway.

Speaking after undergoing the screening, Hayatu-Deen described the process as seamless, saying it involved extensive document verification and questions on party affairs and governance.

He said he is prepared for either a consensus arrangement or direct primaries and will abide by the party’s decision on the process.

Hayatu-Deen also pledged to run a disciplined, issue-driven campaign focused on tackling insecurity, rising living costs, unemployment, and infrastructure challenges.

He further assured that if elected, he would assemble a competent team of Nigerians to deliver effective governance.

The former Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, also appeared for the screening exercise.
