Nine Senators from three political parties have notified the Senate of their defection to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

The Senators include Victor Umeh, Tony Nwoye and Ireti Kingibe, defected from the Labor party to ADC.

Five others, who include Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Binos Yaroe, Lawal Adamu Usman, Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo and Augustine Akobundu resigned from the PDP to ADC.

Then, Enyinnaya Abaribe, the only APGA member in the Senate, also defected to ADC.

However, Senate has given Senator Abaribe one week to reconsider his defection because his explanation that he dumped APGA because he was sacked by the party is not justified, noting the reason is not covered by the constitution.
