Gunmen suspected to be cultists killed the Commander of the Omoku Zonal Command of the Ogba Security Planning and Advisory Committee, OSPAC, and 3 women during an attack along Oba Road in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, Rivers State.

The attack threw the community into panic as residents fled for safety, while business owners hurriedly shut their shops over fears of further violence.

The Public Relations Officer of OSPAC in Rivers State, Comrade Nkem Godknows, in a statement, said the gunmen attacked the commander while he was relaxing with his sister and her friends near his residence when unknown gunmen approached and shot him dead.

The three women died on the spot, while two other victims sustained gunshot wounds and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The Rivers State Police Command were said to have been informed of the killings and have since visited the site to evacuate the bodies.

Confirming the incident, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Blessing Agabe, expressed sadness over the killings, calling on members of the public to furnish the command with any information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, normalcy has been restored to the community, according to the PPRO, as Police commence manhunt of the killers.
