Fayose Instigates Conflict Between Olubadan, Makinde
Former Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State may be instigating conflict between the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
The former Ekiti Governor insisted that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State is pursuing an agenda to dethrone the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.
Fayose, during a courtesy visit to the Olubadan at his residence in Ibadan, said he came for solidarity with the traditional ruler amid the ongoing controversy surrounding an alleged impeachment crisis involving the governor and the palace.
According to Fayose, recent developments have validated earlier warnings he made about political tensions in the state.
The former governor alleged that Governor Makinde had previously taken actions that were initially denied but later confirmed, citing instances, such as, controversial coronations and financial dealings.
While reacting to the Allegations of impeachment and the rift between the Olubadan and the governor, Oba Rashidi ladoja called for Calm in Ibadan. He dismissed reports alleging plans for his dethronement, describing the claims as rumours and urging residents to remain calm.
He acknowledged Fayose’s concerns but said there was no evidence to support claims that the state government intended to sanction or remove him.
