Ekiti monarchs support zoning of candidacy
First class monarchs in Ekiti state have thrown their weights to support the calls for the next governor of the state to emerge from any of the towns in the six local government areas making up of the south senatorial district.
The monarchs explained that the agitation is in the interest of justice and fairness, as no indigene of the district has occupied the governorship seat since the creation of the state in 1996.
In line with this development, many governorship aspirants from the district across political parties have been pushing for the southern agenda with all the three aspirants in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the zone.
The obas also charged residents of the state to vote massively for any candidate that eventually emerge from the southern senatorial district of the state.
