The Confederation of APC Support Groups has declared its support for former Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly. The Confederation insisted that he is the most suitable candidate to represent the district in the National Assembly ahead of the next election cycle.

The Director General of the Confederation, Prof. Kailani Muhammad, said the people of Kaduna Central need a voice that roars for the common man rather than a representative disconnected from grassroots realities.

He said Shehu Sani distinguished himself nationally as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts, where he opposed a proposed $350 million World Bank loan sought by the Kaduna State Government, arguing that the state’s debt profile was unsustainable.

The APC support group further highlighted several constituency projects facilitated by Shehu Sani during his tenure. They include the construction and equipping of primary healthcare centres in rural communities, installation of solar-powered boreholes and hand-pump wells, and distribution of solar streetlights across parts of Kaduna Central.

On security, the group said the former senator provided patrol vehicles and communication gadgets to local vigilante groups, operating in areas affected by banditry, particularly, in Birnin Gwari and Giwa local government areas.
