The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has described the coming together of all governors of the South-South into the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, as the extra work put in place by the South-South Zonal leaders of the party.

Senator Akpabio made the disclosure in Asaba, Delta State, during the South-South Zonal convention of the APC.

Addressing the gathering, which included six governors from the region, as well as senators and members of the state and national assembly, Akpabio conveyed the president's message, commending the south-south region.

The host, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, stressed on the unity of the party. The Governors of Bayelsa, Rivers and Akwa-Ibom states also reiterated the essence of the unity of APC in the south-south geopolitical zone.

Attention will now be shifted to the national convention of the party at a later date.
