Ajimobi cautions Olubadan, Oba Adetunji

While reactions continued to trail the review of Olubadan chieftancy law in Oyo state, the state governor, Abiola Ajimobi has appealed to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji not to allow politicians to use him against the interest of the land.


Speaking at the commissioning of Mobil junction, in Are, Oluyole, Apata Wema road, Ajimobi stated that Oba Saliu Adetunji remain a respectable royal father in the land; adding that the opposition to the recent review is not from him but from some selfish politicians.

He maintained that those criticising him for the review of Olubadan chieftaincy law, would later commend him for the initiative.

“I want to use this opportunity to appeal to our father, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, he is our respectable father and the father of all, not to allow some politicians use him against the peace and progress of ibadan. He should not allow the selfish few to push him into taking wrong decision. We know those who are behind the move and we will continue to defeat them.),” the governor said

Ajimobi however  stated that the essence of the road construction embarked on by the present administration in the state is to open up the state for rapid socio-economic economic growth and development in the interest of all and sundry.
A resident of the area, Emmanuel Adegboyega, the Caretaker chairman of Ibadan south west, Gbenga Opaleye and Oba Lekan Balogun commended the initiative of the state government for the road construction.
The 5.5 kilometer road was constructed at the cost of #2,225,081,556.99.
