The Nigerian labour Congress, NLC, Oyo State Council, on Tuesday, reinforced the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, and other allied trade unions, to intensify the protest by teachers over increasing insecurity in schools across the country. The NLC, NUT and others led teachers in Oyo State on solidarity rally to demand the immediate release of teachers and students kidnapped by terrorists on May 15 at Yawota and Esinele communities in Orire Local Government Area, Oyo State.

The protest is rapidly spreading in South West Nigeria, including Lagos, even unto the FCT, Abuja.
