Yuletide Season: Benue Police Deploys 4000 Plus Officers
Over four thousand police officers have been deployed across Benue state to ensure the security of lives and property during the Christmas and New Year celebrations. The Benue State Police Commissioner, CP Ifeanyi Emenari, stated this during interaction with newsmen at the Police headquarters in Makurdi.
With less than 48 hours to the celebration of Christmas and ahead of the New Year celebration. CP. Emenari has assured the people of Benue State of a peaceful celebration. Stating that more officers have been deployed with additional reinforcement from the inspector General of police Kayode Egbetokun to ensure a hitch free YULETIDE. He noted that the police will stop at nothing to sustain the relative peace so far enjoyed by the people particularly as some IDPs are fast returning to their communities and villages.
While the commissioner of police hinted that officers will be deployed to recreational centers, churches, mosques, market places and other vulnerable centers across the state says this will be done in collaboration with sister agencies. Assuring that both worshippers and members of the public should have no cause to fear.
