There was a fire incident involving an oil tanker, laden to capacity with Automotive Gas Oil, AGO-Diesel, which occurred at Abeokuta expressway, Abule Egba, inward Agege.

Information has it that the fully laden petroleum tanker conveying AGO (diesel) to an unknown destination, was fully engulfed in flames.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of the oil tanker during navigation, while on motion, lost control. The truck then fell and spilled its contents, which subsequently ignited and resulted in a fire outbreak.

No life was lost, but a male dispatcher, however, sustained burnt injuries and was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Firefighters and the Agency’s LRT were promptly deployed to the incident scene. The swift response of the Agency’s Response Team, alongside other responders on the scene of the incident, successfully combated the fire and ensured it was completely extinguished.

Necessary measures were taken to forestall damages to the environs of the incident scene.
