Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court has fined the Nigerian government N200,000 for deliberately stalling the trial of the convener of the Revolution Now Movement, Omoyele Sowore.

This is as the prosecution called for an adjournment owing to its failure to file the amended charges against Sowore and Olawale Bakare, his co-defendant.

Both men face charges bordering on a treasonable felony for organizing the Revolution Now protests sometime on August 5, 2019, which the government alleges is a plot to take overpower.

The highlight of Wednesday's court hearing is the presence of Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka and Sen. Shehu Sani who were in the courtroom in solidarity with defendants.
