Police Parade Suspects for Criminal Acts

The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) has arrested and paraded suspects involved in identity theft, business email compromise, and money laundering.

While parading four suspects at the NPF-NCCC office in Abuja on Tuesday, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed a syndicate which included Lucky Adesunloye (34), Ndifreke Joseph Moody (27), and Chinedu Godswill Israel (20).

Galaxy Television reports that ACP Adejobi explained that on June 4, 2024, the Centre received a petition from Mallam Yasir Hassan Isah, who was defrauded of ₦24 million. In a separate case, the NPF-NCCC arrested Egbo Efe Martins (26) from Delta State for facilitating cybercrime by opening and renting bank accounts to cybercriminals.

Adejobi said these accounts were used to solicit funds under false pretenses. Egbo admitted to his involvement, claiming ignorance of the victims’ identities. ACP Adejobi emphasized the NPF’s commitment to educating Nigerians about cyber threats and ensuring the digital space is secure.
