The Delta state police command have confirmed the boat mishap along Bennet Island in Warri South West local government area of Delta state

According to a statement by the state police command spokesperson Edafe Bright, five persons were found dead in the waterways, six injured and receiving treatment, while nineteen persons were rescued with one still missing.

Thirty one persons were said to be on board the boat when the boat accident occurred along the escravous waterways. Meanwhile, divers are still searching for the missing person in the ill-fated boat mishap while the cause of the accident is yet to be confirmed according to the police.
