No reprisal attack- Arewa assures IPOB
The Arewa consultative forum has said they will not carry out reprisal attacks on members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), despite the recent attack on some Hausa communities by suspected IPOB militants in Rivers state.
This was disclosed while briefing journalist in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital. The forum maintained their stance in assuring peace in the country, stressing that the peace of the country is non-negotiable.
During the briefing by the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), the state public secretary of the forum, Hussaini Audu Nde, expressed regrets that the Hausa communities who have co-existed peacefully in the state were targeted by alleged IPOB agitators.
Other members assured that they will not engage in any act capable of plunging the nation into further chaos.
The group while affirming it's believe in the Nigeria project called on the international community, human rights group, Northern governors, respected Royal fathers and Nigerians to come to the aid of the affected victims.
They however applauded the effort of the Rivers state government, governed by Nyesom Wike and security agencies for their swift response in curbing the crises.
