NIS begins sensitization on e registration in Ekiti
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has commenced the registration of immigrants in the country to check criminal activities. The Comptroller of NIS in Ekiti State, Ifeoma Dibia, disclosed this during an interactive session with migrants in the state. Dibia said the registration would enable the Federal Government to know the number of non-Nigerians living in the country and assist the government in its planning. She said the programme, which would last for six months, would be free of charge and open to legal and illegal migrants. The comptroller explained that children of migrants living in the country who are below 18 years of age would register under their parents. Migrants who participated in the interactive session commended the Federal government and promised to inform other migrants resident in the state. |
