Lagos Govt. Commends JOHESU For Embracing Dialogue, Ending Strike

The Lagos State Government, after a meeting between representatives of the State Government and executives of the Union, commended the Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU, for the decision to call off the recent strike, embracing dialogue and constructive engagement.

The Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Afolabi Ayantayo, noted that JOHESU has shown a demonstration of goodwill and shared responsibility toward safeguarding public healthcare services in Lagos State.

Ayantayo stated that there was a consensus at the meeting to sustain discussions in resolving the outstanding issues, while the Union convenes its Congress to formally communicate resolutions reached and restore normalcy across public healthcare facilities in the State.

The Commissioner assured of the commitment to responding to the Union’s demands for enhanced welfare benefits in line with established regulations and agreed timelines.

Ayantayo expressed appreciation to the role of allied health professionals in strengthening healthcare delivery across the State.

The Commissioner acknowledged the timely, intervention and constructive role in facilitating dialogue and promoting understanding by the leadership of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

This, he said, significantly contributed to the amicable resolution of the impasse.
