Fubara Commends Organized Labour For Adopting Dialogue In Resolving Trade Dispute
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, on Friday, commended the Organized Labour, comprising of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, the Trade Union Congress, TUC, and all affiliate unions, for adopting dialogue in resolving trade disputes.
The governor eulogized Labour for eschewing from confrontation and maintaining industrial harmony in Rivers State.
Fubara, in his goodwill message to the workers on May Day 2026, noted that the maturity of the leadership of the Organised Labour has been responsible for the industrial peace existing at workplaces across the state.
The governor enjoined the leadership of the Organized Labour to "keep the dialogue table open", and sustain thew cordial industrial relations in the state.
Fubara, in a statement on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, praised all workers in the Rivers State Civil Service for their contributions towards the development of the state. He pledged that his administration will continue to ensure that their welfare and well-being remain a priority.
The governor emphasized the civil servants have maintained peace, harmony, and stability in the past 35 months, the state has gone through political storms.
According to Fubara, “Despite political storms, you did not down tools. Our schools did not shut. Our hospitals did not close. That is because you chose service over strife. Rivers State owes you a debt of gratitude.
“On our part, salaries have been paid promptly every consecutive month. Pensions are being cleared. Let me assure you that no senior citizen who served this state will be left behind".
