Group Prescribes Guidelines Conflict Resolution In Kaduna

 An advocacy group, SPRING, has prescribed guidelines for conflict resolution in Kaduna State.

The group showed commitment to curbing the recurring land conflicts between farmers and herders in Kaduna State, including strengthening peace and resilience in Nigeria.

SPRING, accordingly, launched guidelines for the prevention and resolution of farmers and herders disputes in North West Nigeria, and other parts of the country.

The guidelines, developed in collaboration with stakeholders, aimed to promote peaceful coexistence and sustainable land use.

The event, attended by traditional leaders, farmers, herders, and government officials, marked a significant step towards addressing the longstanding social vice. The guidelines outlined clear procedures for resolving conflicts, including mediation, negotiation, and arbitration. They also emphasized the importance of respecting existing land rights and boundaries.

The Commissioner for Internal Security and Homes Affairs, Sule Shuaibu, emphasized the need for cooperation and understanding between farmers and herders.

Fielding questions from newsmen, representative of Spring, Barau Emmanuel, urged all stakeholders to embrace the initiative and work together towards a more harmonious future.
