Fire Service Rescues Man, 84, From 140ft well in Lagos

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, LSFRS, responding to a distress call on Tuesday morning, rescued an 84 years old man from a 140 feet well, in a suspected suicide attempt.

The incident occurred around the Aboru area of Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Lagos State.

Preliminary observations suggest a suspected case of attempted suicide, as the well the man fell into was adequately protected and securely covered.

The victim was successfully recued by the response team, and subsequently, handed over to the family members for proper attention. The cause of the incident is subject of further investigations.

Meanwhile, the Controller General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, reiterated the agency’s commitment to prompt emergency response. She urges members of the public to seek help and report emergencies through the appropriate channels when in distress.
