FG To Roll Out Policy On Skill Development In September
The Federal Government says all is set for the introduction of National Policy on Skills Development in all Schools across Nigeria as from September 2024.
The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman who made the disclosure in Abuja on Tuesday declared that the policy is Central to addressing skills deficiency in the country.
The Pre validation meeting on National Policy on skills development was organised by the Federal Ministry of Education and UNESCO. It was follow up meeting on the several engagement that had been held on skills development.
The policy is Central to addressing skills deficiency in the country with growing population of youth, who are out of school.
Speaking at the revalidating meeting on the Policy, the Minister of Education said the policy would become operational as from September, at the resumption of the new Academic session.
Also, the Minister of State for Education, Dr Yusuf Sununu in his remark, emphasized the relevance of the policy and further called for collaboration and cooperation for effective implementation.
The representative of UNICEF and UNESCO at the event promised their continuous support for the effective implementation of the policy for the advancement of Knowledge in Nigeria.
Stakeholders are expected to endorse the policy at the end of the one day pre validation meeting for implementation in all Schools, both Public and private across Nigeria.
