FG Harps on Enhanced Security For Rapid Infrastructural Development

The Federal Government has emphasized the need for enhanced security logistics to ensure uninterrupted construction activities. The Government also underscored the need to safeguard personnel and equipment, and support efforts to deliver safe and world-class road infrastructure. Minister of State for Works Muhammad Goronyo, made the call while receiving ten brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicles to enhance security surveillance and operational efficiency along the ongoing Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway corridor, donated by the Kebbi State Government.

Barr Goronyo described the donation as a clear demonstration of Kebbi State’s commitment to the success of one of the most ambitious national infrastructure projects. Providing an update on the project, the Minister highlighted the significant progress recorded within Kebbi State so far, including: 64 kilometers of cleared right-of-way, Over 30 kilometers of earthworks completed, Four kilometers of concrete dual carriageway delivered, and Five kilometers of solar streetlights already installed

Speaking earlier, Governor Nasir Idris said the donation of the Hilux vehicles represents Kebbi State’s strategic support for national security and infrastructure development. He explained that with Kebbi hosting 258 kilometers of the highway—the longest stretch within any state—ensuring the protection of workers, communities, and construction assets is essential.
