Ekiti Govt warns parents against keeping children of school age at home

EKITI state commissioner for  Education, Science and Technology, Mr Foluso Daramola has warned Parents and Guardians of school-age children that skip school to run errands would henceforth be prosecuted and made to face the full wrath of the law.


The Commissioner who made this warning at an enrolment Drive sensitization programme organised by the state universal basic education board, SUBEB, in conjunction with the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, ii Ita Ido in Efon Local Government Area of the state.

The commissioner said parents and Guardians have no reason to deny their children or wards access to basic education now that education is totally free in all public primary and secondary schools in the state.

In her words, the executive chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board Professor Francisca Aladejana posited that all hands must be on deck to ensure all children of school age have unfettered access to basic education in the state as the government was taking steps to ensure that public schools provide qualitative services to their pupils.
