Diaspora Igbo Groups Call On Royal Fathers To Speak Up, Commends Eze Agubuzu
Diaspora Igbo Advocacy Groups in the United State, U.S., American Veterans of Igbo Descent, AVID; Ambassadors for Self-Determination, and Rising Sun Foundation, have called on traditional rulers in South East Nigeria to speak up on the incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigerian government.
The Groups, in a statement by Dr. Sylvester Onyia, and Chief Evans Nwankwo, commended His Royal Majesty, Eze Agubuzu of Enugu, for his unflinching courage in telling President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to his face, what other Igbo traditional rulers have been too weak, compromised cowardly, to say on the incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
The statement indicated that the royal fathers are currently the only monarchs who have publicly understood the depth of the pain, injustice, and anguish inflicted upon the people by the illegal detention of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The Groups called on all Igbo traditional rulers to abandon cowardice, abandon complicity, and speak with one voice, adding that, the time for half-measures, whispers, and veiled statements is over.
The statement maintained that history will not forgive those who chose silence while the people suffered injustice.
